Students loved doing this STEM activity, in which they were given spaghetti, a marshmallow, and a few pieces of tape. Working in groups, students had to create a spaghetti tower that was free-standing and held the marshmallow at the top. They had so much fun learning about structures and measurement!

In my sixth-grade classroom, I created a bulletin board to motivate my students to take mathematics seriously, and to show them how no matter what path they choose in life, they will always need math. The board has just some of the many careers in life that require you to have math skills!

As a STEM lesson during our water cycle unit, we became environmental engineers and had to design water filters to clean a town's water. The students had to work in teams to decide which materials they would use and how to assemble them. They also had to stick to a budget, as each material cost a certain price. We tested the filters to see which design was the most efficient in cleaning the water best while keeping the cost down. It was so much fun!

Here I am planting flowers in our class garden! The students love taking care of the garden and learning about the different plants and insects we find! It also teaches the students responsibility, and they are proud of what they grow!
Here is a picture of the bulletin board I created for my unit on volunteering. The board offered different ideas of ways that my third grade students could get involved and be a volunteer in their own community.
After teaching my lesson on anti-bullying, I had the students create posters about respect and how bullying affects people. I made a collage out of the students' work and we won a contest in the school for our poster! Our class won a cupcake party.
After my lesson on character traits, the students designed their own characters from the story. I then decorated our door with my own work as well as the students' work, and we won a contest in the school!
Here is an example of one of the many anchor charts I created to go along with some of my lessons. This one was on making text connections and the students loved it!
After the students created their own narrative stories, I put together class books and hung them up for anyone to come and read! I also decorated the wall with different pictures about volunteering.
